Case: Takes notes on I-Pad
I have a strict no-technology during instruction policy. Two students are taking notes on I-Pads and clearly are using them for more than just note-taking. Am I being too strict? If not, how should I approach this situation?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
This is tricky because it is their own personal devices. If the students have accommodations and have to use it during instruction, I would move their seats closest to where I stand while teaching so use can be monitored. You could also talk with their parents about putting parental controls on the devices so they can only use the notes app during school. If they don't have to have access to the during instruction, I would make them keep the iPad's face down. |

Comments: This is exactly what I would do! Monitoring devices, while still allowing their use for them is a good balance! |
