The parents have been informed that there names will be placed in a random generator and picked from there, but several parents are refusing to allow their students to go with out them, and have even threatened to call the district and complain. How do you handle the situation with these parents? Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!) I would tell adminstartion of this issue on how parents are threatening to complain to the district about not being allowed to chaperone, even after being told that chaperones are chosen at random and that you personally do not decide, and that their children will be safe regardless but it is their choice if they allow their child to attend or not. This is so that admin is aware of the problem that the parents are causing and can get behind you if needed.
