Every time the student has to go into time out he cries and cries and cries. I feel bad but he has to learn. I am not sure how to handle this situation. Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!) I feel instead of a time out, you should determine the cause of the behavior. In regards to fighting with other students, maybe you could teach him social skills around resolving conflicts. Also, you could use the strategies self-evaluation (assessing if the behaviors he engages in are appropriate is or not) and self-instruction.
