I have a student that asks a question about very minor detail in all aspects of the day. Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!) I would suggest that the student learn how to answer questions for themselves and save more important questions for me. This can be done by speaking in private so that they’re not embarrassed in front of class, and by showing them nicely the line of thought that is involved with answering questions by themselves and leaving irrelevant questions unanswered. This way, the student will learn that this behavior is unwanted in the most respectful way possible while being motivated to want to find things out for themselves.
