Case: My Dog Ate My Homework
A problem I have had with several students is that they constantly "forget their homework," especially on Mondays, coming back from the weekend. How can I better instill responsibility in the classroom and prevent this issue from reoccurring?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
You could possibly make any weekend assignments due to be turned in on Tuesday and use Monday as a reminding day to bring in their homework. If you're worried about students not doing their homework over the weekend, you could have a guardian signing and dating the work with the day it was completed. |

Comments: If the teacher is worried about completion then Tuesday would be a good idea |

Comments: I think this is a good solution but could lead the students to believing that their might be loose due dates on all assignments. If this solution is implemented at the beginning of the year then it would be a perfect solution. |

Comments: I really like the idea of not giving homework over the weekend to be due on Monday. The weekends should be full of fun an rest and homework is easily forgotten even if you're a good student. Helping them out by giving them an extra day is really helpful. |

Comments: I agree with this. I only feel that those in middle and high school should have homework over the weekend. Young kids are more likely to forget. |

Comments: I used to have a teacher who implemented this strategy of Tuesday turn in's and I found it incredibly useful. You never know a students personal life, such as what they use their weekend for. Giving them an additional school day ensures that they have every opportunity to remember homework. Also, this extra day (Monday) gives students the opportunity to ask the teacher any questions they might've run into while working on their homework over the weekend. |

Comments: I do not think these will be a good solution, in fact I think it will be the opposite. I think kids today get a lot of breaks, and by enable them to not to do the homework over the weekend is not just wrong but unfair to the other kids that do follow directions. If kids keep forgetting or not doing their homework over the weekend, I think notes, or letters should be send home. Signatures should be require, to make sure parents get the notes or letters. |

Comments: I don't really agree with the solution. More specifically, having parents sign the homework. I feel like this doesnt work well in Middle/Highchool. |
