We had an active assailant drill where we were told that it was a closed campus situation and that we could continue instruction but were not allowed to leave the building. I walked by the classroom and noticed that the sub had the class up against the wall and the lights off. I went up to her and calmly and nicely explained that since it was a closed campus situation, we could continue with the instruction. Still, the sub told me in a rather rude tone that no one told her that was the case and that if they wanted it done a certain way then they need to inform her, but until then she would be doing things her way. Any thoughts or tips? Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!) I would first try explaining to the teacher what is the proper way to practice this drill is. For example, I would tell them what the drill is for, the email sent stating the drill information, etc. If there is still an issue I would take it up with administration and let them take care of it.
