Case: Maintaining an authoritative position
As educators, it is difficult to not over impose authority over children, as it is difficult to not be their friends.
As an educator, I find this to be complicated. What solutions do you propose?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
Firstly, you must keep it professional. Yes, your students should see you as their friend you just have to keep that professional and make sure that it does not make you easily taken advantage of. If your students are too comfortable they will more than likely take advantage of that fact. You have to make sure that there are still repercussions for not being the best student they can be. |
