  Case: Classroom Fighting
As an intern I witnessed two of my students get into a physical altercation. The other teacher in the room with me moved the other students aside and then pulled the two students into the hallway to discuss with them the matter privately while I watched the rest of the class. The two boys were separated for the remainder of the period and administration was called. I asked my teacher why and she didn't call and she said she handled it and there wasn't any need to get admin involved. What could have been done differently? Why didn't my teacher report the alteration to administration?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
I suspect that the teacher could have dreaded the effects of getting administration involved. Perhaps they assumed they can determine the intensity of the physical altercation and only take further action if the situation was "bad" enough. However, the repercussions of this for the teacher could be severe if a parent were to become aware of this event and call the school. The break in communication that the teacher caused not only makes the school look unprofessional, but poses a school safety hazard as well.
