I oftentimes wait to see if others know the answer but they simply expect him to raise his hand and answer so they never do themselves. Many times I tell the class that someone else must answer but I do not want to do this for the entire semester, how can I encourage more participation out of the others and teach the other student about self-control. I think the best solution would be to stop asking questions and directly ask a specific student a question and so on. do not ask the whole class, but ask individually.
