  Case: Classroom Fighting
As an intern I witnessed two of my students get into a physical altercation. The other teacher in the room with me moved the other students aside and then pulled the two students into the hallway to discuss with them the matter privately while I watched the rest of the class. The two boys were separated for the remainder of the period and administration was called. I asked my teacher why and she didn't call and she said she handled it and there wasn't any need to get admin involved. What could have been done differently? Why didn't my teacher report the alteration to administration?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
You did the right thing in separating the students, but in any case the administration should have been notified about the incident as the principle and other teachers would find out regardless due to student gossip and rumors. It is also important to involve them as their is no guarantee that the students would not start fighting again in or outside of school and may lead to the situation escalating beyond anyone's control.
