Case: Put in an Uncomfortable Situation
I worked in a first-grade classroom and was put in a position where I had to make a phone call home due to the teacher being out. When I called the parent, I was able to keep the conversation as positive as possible, and everything was fine until the parent asked me about how I felt the teacher handles and teaches the class as the parent was concerned about constantly hearing that their child is severely behind academically. I was able to answer this in a way that did not come off as being biased in any way but it was quite uncomfortable. Has anyone else been through this?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
I have never been through this situation before but I can understand how uncomfortable it is. The fellow teacher is your coworker and you never want to be unprofessional. I would try to avoid the questions and stay as positive as possible when dealing with this situation.
