Case: Young students not sitting still
I recently observed a 2nd-grade class and I noticed there were a couple of students that could not either sit still at their desks or had to be doing something while the teacher was talking. It wasn't extremely disruptive to the whole class but you could tell some students would notice them doing things. So, my question is, how do you deal with students who can't sit still in class? They're good students, but they just were so distracted.

My biggest advice, would be to incorporate as many hands-on activities as possible. Also, share step by steps. Do guided readings, line by line paragraph writing, and give lots of breaks in between activities. |
