Case: How much should you share during a parent teacher conference?
I'm looking to have parent teacher conferences soon and would like to know what is too much to share and just enough. Thanks!
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
In my experience, I would share as much as I needed to in order for the parent to understand how their student is performing in the classroom and how they interact with their peers. It opens the conversation up for the parent to ask questions, get advice for how to address any concerns at home, and it helps build a relationship with the parent, allowing for more open communication to occur later in the school year. Also, any negative should be followed up with a positive. Parents do not want to only hear how bad their child has been or how much they struggle. Throw in a sprinkle of positivity to ease their worries.
