Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!) I would make a phone call home to see what the parents say. I had a student who slept during class and was violent when he was woken up. We discovered after a phone call home that mom was not aware of the situation or any issues with his sleep. She took him to the doctor later that week, and later diagnosed him with narcolepsy. I would get as much background information as possible and stay in contact with the parent/guardian.
