Home | How It Works | Stats Login | Register         Case: Rushing to leave What I dislike the most is when students pack up their book bags before class is even over in anticipation of the end-of-period bell. What can I do to stop that? Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!) I would keep them for one minute after the bell rang. There are always at least 4 minutes inbetween classes som let them lose one and have to rush and not be able to do all the socializing inbetween classes. Clear and direct classroom rules set at the beginnning of the school year and kept throughout will help keep the class "in class". Students will be arriving to your class and will see the student you are punishing. Also, this will create anxiety on the student for being late to their next class, especially if it across campus, going into their lunch time, having to dress out for Physical Education, or get textbooks from their locker. I think it would be best just to dismiss them last from class.
