  Case: Yelling out
If you are in front of the entire class trying to correct a pretest so that everyone knows what to do for the test, what do you do if you have one student who is just yelling out all of the answers, sometimes before you even ask the question and the rest of the class is sitting there bored out of their minds. You don't want to ask the student not to answer because he is the type of student who if you did that he would probably find some other way to be disruptive and then he wouldn't be paying attention at all. Plus, chances are that if he were not yelling out the answers, no one else would have.
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
The first thing I would do would be to ask him, what do we do if we want to answer a question. The second time it happens I would simply raise my hand and say the students name. If it happen again, I would give he or she a mark in their planner.

Comments: I don't agree with this solution, it will not solve the issue next review. I think the teacher would have to find another way to review to incorporate the entire class to allow others time to answer.

Comments: I like this idea because it does not give that student the reaction they are looking for by blurting out answers. As a teacher little actions such as rasing our own hands to get our student to do so can be very helpful.

Comments: I agree reminding the student the rules of the classroom this will help cut down on them interrupting the corrections.

Comments: I would never do this. I don't think a mark in the student's planner would mean enough to the student to get them to stop yelling out. I think a slightly worse disciplinary action would be much more effective.

Comments: Although this is the same as redirecting it is not restating the classroom rules.

Comments: Putting a mark in their planner could help the student to understand how serious you are about not calling out. Although the student is excited to answer, they need to be reminded that they can not say things whenever they want without raising their hands.
