  Case: The Clingy Student
You are a first grade teacher and have a student that is always seeking your attention. She always asks for help although you believe she is in no need of it. She also constantly requests for you to look over her work to make sure she is doing it correctly. This is keeping you from assisting other students. How do you handle the situation?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
I would let the student know that she is to do the best that she can, and not to overthink too much. If she had any more questions pertaining to the assignment I would tell her to skip that one for now and go back to it.

Comments: I do not think this idea would work for me. It does not appear the issue is with this student not understanding the assignment and more on the lines of requiring additional attention from the teacher.

Comments: This student needs a little more intervention than just talking with her. She needs somthing tanglible toget her to become more independent.

Comments: I agree, helping her feel more confident in herself will likely help her to not need constant reassurance, and skipping a question until the end where she can ask for help limits the time you need to spend solely on her.

Comments: While this is a good idea, you have to consider the possibilities that she may be seeking attention from you as she does not get any at home. You want the student to feel like they can trust you. So offering her a good job is a good idea. I personally would set goals. Like for every 10 problems she completes I will come review her work. Something that would benefit both me and the student.
