However, later during the exam her cell phone begins to vibrate and an obnoxious "One Direction" ringtone sounds from the phone. What penalty should the student face? Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!) I feel that the students phone should be taken up and turned into to administration. Standardized testing should be taken seriously and students can be distracting by the smallest thing. Especially when it begins to play music, students will laugh and lose concentration. She had the opportunity to hand the phone over and she chose to lie about not having one. Like you said the student was given the opportunity to hand over her phone but didn't. By doing so she jeopardized everyone else's grade when it went off.
