Case: Cell Phones During Standardized Tests
A student taking the Georgia Milestones Biology exam says that she does not have a cell phone when the teacher doing the proctoring comes around to collect the phones. However, later during the exam her cell phone begins to vibrate and an obnoxious "One Direction" ringtone sounds from the phone. What penalty should the student face?

The student's test should be made invalid because of their lack of following directions. In many cases, it could jeopardize the entire room's test scores because of a bad decision by a student. Students need to be aware that state-mandated testing should be considered as a very serious event and act in a professional manner while taking these assessments. |
