Case: Cell Phones During Standardized Tests
A student taking the Georgia Milestones Biology exam says that she does not have a cell phone when the teacher doing the proctoring comes around to collect the phones. However, later during the exam her cell phone begins to vibrate and an obnoxious "One Direction" ringtone sounds from the phone. What penalty should the student face?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
I'm sure that there are testing protocols that must be followed, as well as reporting of testing irregularities that occur, such as this one. In addition, students will be distracted and lose focus over hearing this ringtone, and sometimes, depending on the length of time that has passed, will find it hard to regain focus. Administration should definitely be informed of this and should decided on any major punishment, and if the teacher wanted to assign any minor punishment as well (silent lunch, writing assignment, detention, etc.), as well, they should be able to.
