Case: Cell Phones During Standardized Tests
A student taking the Georgia Milestones Biology exam says that she does not have a cell phone when the teacher doing the proctoring comes around to collect the phones. However, later during the exam her cell phone begins to vibrate and an obnoxious "One Direction" ringtone sounds from the phone. What penalty should the student face?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
If I was in the classroom I would take the student's test. I would not make a huge seen by trying to take the student's phone. I would politely tell the student to step outside and contact an administrator. The student's test would then be invalid due to a classroom disruption. If students choose not to give their phone to a teacher then we cannot force them to, but if it goes off during testing they must be removed from the room.
