  Case: Homework
parent comes into class and wants to make a suitable time to discuss the amount of homework given to the child. They state that there is too much homework and their child can't possibly get it all done. They state that you as the teacher expect far too much. How do you handle this situation?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
I would pull state expectations and my expectations to show the parents. Parents do not see the other side of teaching.

Comments: While sharing this side of teaching with the parent may ease the teachers frustrations, it does not seem like it will ease the students inability to complete the assignment

Comments: I feel that it is important to look at the parents' side of things as well. As the teacher you might not realize that you might actually be giving too much homework but you will never know unless you ask the parents and the students. As always the parent might just be complaining because they might not know how to help the child with the homework or wants to go do something with the child but has to do their homework first and the parents does not like that. My suggestion would be to not just jump to the conclusion that you as the teacher are right but listen to what the parent has to say as well.
