She has a boy in her classroom who's behavior fluctuates, however majority of the time the behavior is negative to himself, teacher, and peers. When he gets into trouble and is asked to leave the room he walks so slow barely even taking a step. The parents have been notified and administration involved. However the child continues to have bad behavior and point scissors at his neck and say I am going to die, etc. The counselors have been involved along with the parent notification and other teachers trying to assist. Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!) That is a stressful situation. I would collect all the data you can on his behaviors and talk to your special education lead teacher about having the student evaluated for a disability. I would go that route and try to see if there is something else going on. Each student always has a reason for the behavior. Try to separate the behavior from the student and help the student the best you can.
