Comments: My school and grade also does something like this person's solution. Our students who are struggling with reading and math (these are identified when students take the Aimsweb reading and math assessment- tests fluency and math facts) are put on a tier system. All students are tier one, but a student who has low Aimsweb scores in reading and/or math are identified, they are bumped to a tier two. This means that they are given extra practice in the area they are struggling in at least 3 times a week. All of this is set up with the help of our RTI (Response to Intervention) coach. She has been an excellent resource with providing grouping ideas for differentiation in the classroom and how to keep track of students progress. |
