Case: Your wallet is missing
You attend a basketball game at your school, and sit beside some students in your science class who have a bad reputation. You notice your wallet is missing and you're sure the students took your wallet. You tell the students that you cannot find your wallet and ask if they have seen it. They state that they have not. What would be the next action(s)?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
I would notify the parents as well as the administrators. I would also get the school officer involved. |

Comments: Notifying their parents means that you found them guilty of the crime. At this time, you do not have any evidence. I think the school officer present at the game should be the first person you contact to help find your wallet. |

Comments: I understand wanting to do something, however without a real reason to suspect the students it would not be appropriate to contacts parents and a school officer. |

Comments: I do not see the need to involve the parents. There is no proof that the students took the wallet. Involving the parents may get innocent kids into trouble. |

Comments: You can't automatically accuse anyone of anything without proof so you can't notify parents. Getting too many people involved will not result in a positive solution. |

Comments: Notifying parents when you aren't sure that their children had any part in the theft could definitely be a cause for conflict. Parents and students may feel as though you are placing the blame on them simply because of their reputation. |

Comments: You can't accuse these kids without proof. That simple. This would lead to a disaster. |
