  Case: STAR test assessment question
A school recently decided to pilot the STAR test. This is the first time 1st graders were given a computer test that wasn't read to them. It is also only 35 questions and it is timed. Does anyone have any experience with this test or how to prep students for it?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
Give the students weekly assignments on the computer to familiarize them with using a computer. Also, encourage the parents allow the students to work on the computer or laptop if permissible.

Comments: We cannot expect students to be assessed on the computer without prior knowledge of how to use one. This strategy is beneficial for testing, but also teaching students how to use a very important piece of technology they will be using for the rest of their lives.
