Case: Connection Classes Don't Matter
Mr. White has students enter his technology class every semester that seem to not care about their grades. He has often heard students say that they don't have to pass his class to move on to the next grade. Students must pass six out of their eight connection classes to be promoted, but too often, students are permitted regardless. How can Mr. White make his students value his class and make them understand how it is relevant to them?

Technology is such a hot button issue right now. Students are connected to technology in some way almost the entire day, and there are so many interesting jobs that involve technology. Mr. White needs to find ways to connect these interests into his lessons. There are hundreds of free apps that allow students to make movies, blogs, and websites. Teaching their students through these resources and then requiring projects with these programs may help his students to show more of an interest in his lessons. |
