  Case: Homework
Mrs. X is having a hard time checking over the students homework they turn in weekly. It is not for a grade, but she wants to see if they are doing it right. Any suggestions for Mrs. X so she isn't bogged down checking homework?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
One thing that I do for homework is allow students to self assess on the homework. At the beginning of each period, I project the answers, and the students check their answers. There is a space on the homework that asks students how many questions they correctly answered and what they struggled with for that night's homework. If a large number of students got one of the problems incorrectly, then we review that problem in class.

Comments: I used this for years in school and it was immensely helpful. I would recommend students circling their final answer to prevent cheating.

Comments: I find this to be a very useful solution and in the same situation would use it myself. I think placing the grades and having students grade their own work will help them see where they might have gotten an answer wrong and how to correct it. Also having the students count how many they got wrong and even pair with other students is helpful. I think going over the ones a majority got wrong is like a mini lesson plan and will help greatly.

Comments: If I were in this situation, I would do exactly this. I feel that self-analysis can be one of the best tools to help students grow and understand material.

Comments: I like the idea of having students check their answers and then going over ones that people got wrong in class. I had a teacher who did this and I always found it helpful to go over problems that I had trouble with.
