Home | How It Works | Stats Login | Register         Case: Age is a problem Mrs. Honeycutt has a student in her 7th grade class that is 16 years old. He is constantly disrupting the class and does no work at all. All the kids try their best to impress him even if it means breaking rules. When this student is not at school everything runs much smoother. This student also bullies younger students because he is much older and larger. What should be done about this? Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!) Try the traditional tactics such rearranging seats and having one on one conversations with this students. If this does not work, be sure to make administration aware of this issue and all subsequent situations that arise from this student. Speak with the counselor about this situation and have a conversation about possible RTI for behavior. I believe that communication is key, but I do not agree with moving their seat around. I think instead to give him a sense of responsibilities in the classroom.
