Case: No grade lower than 60
In this school system, teachers are not allowed to give a student a grade lower than 60. How do you feel about this grading policy? It is claimed to be research-based.
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
I do not necessarily disagree with this policy because if a student is not doing their work then they are failing regardless if they have a 60 or 40, but for those actually trying and still failing, it gives them a lead way because they can make it to a C.

Comments: If I were in this situation, I would exactly do this. Aside from the fact that this is the policy of the school system, I agree with this. If a student was to be scored a 20 out of 100 on a test, unless they are given a significant amount of other 100 point tests, it is going to be hard for them to pass the class overall.

Comments: In many schools, a 60%D is technically a passing grade. With this policy in place, many students would be considered passing even if they had not done any of the work.
