I never gave any large, outside-of-class projects simply because most of my students did not have the resources to complete the projects. Also, many of my students worked close to full-time jobs. What is an appropriate amount of classtime for projects? How much should I expect the students to be able to do outside of class? Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!) You can get lots of things donated from local stores. Especially things like boxes, tape rolls, bags, and supply type things. Many places also do school supply donations if you talk to the manager. If the school has homeroom time, students could come then and work on projects
