Case: Too Many Adults In the Room
One day a week for about 40 minutes I have 6 adults in the classroom. It is an ESE setting and my students are distracted enough without all of the extra bodies in the room. All of the adults are circulating the room. It is too much for my students to deal with. I don't know how to approach this.
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
I would come up with a schedule that would rotate the adults throughout the week instead of having them all on one day. If there is more than one adult at a time, you could have one sitting in the back grading papers or working one on one with a student in another room. I would also just explain to the adults the issues of the students being distracted. Most likely the adults are there because they want to help and want what is best for the students as well.

Comments: This solution might not be the best because instead of one day of distractions, there would be multiple days.

Comments: I would not do this, by having additional adults in the classroom through out the week would just cause even more of a distraction.

Comments: I agree. I would use the adults for center rotations! Think of all the things you could accomplish!

Comments: There may not be the option of rotating the adults throughout the week and it would cause more distractions having another adult there on multiple days.

Comments: I think making the adults aware of the distraction problem is important. If a new schedule can be created, it would help solve the problem. I would do the same in this situation.

Comments: Most likely, these teaches that are coming into the classroom are observing the students and will not be there for the entire day. If this is the case, it will be unlikely that they will be able to come in one at a time throughout the day due to their schedules.
