  Case: Peanut Allergy
A little boy, let's call him Jeremy, is highly allergic to peanuts. The students in his class know this and the classroom door even has a sign on it that says "no peanut zone." It seems that there have been some issues at lunch with students threatening Jeremy with peanut butter--all playful, but saying things like "look, Jeremy, PEANUT BUTTER!!!" and holding it inches from his face. Is simply talking to the students at fault enough? Should other actions be taken?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
Talking to the students at fault isn't enough. It is a good start, but it isn't enough. Depending on how severe the allergy is, the student could die if peanut butter is so much as in the same room as him. Doing a series of class health lessons which include allergies and the severity of them is one option that you could take. Another option is to get an administrator or the school nurse involved.

The suggested solution is respectful of the individual (student) Yes
The suggested solution is relevant to the case Yes
The suggested solution is reasonable (easy) for the teacher to implement Yes
The suggested solution is likely to solve the problem/issue Yes
The suggested solution is original Yes
Comments: This solution is the most helpful because it allows the students to understand the implications of what they are doing. Educating the students on what an allergy is, and giving them insight on the seriousness of the issue will most likely cause the problem to stop.

Comments: I agree that a students health is nothing to play around with. Maybe explaining to the other students the issues with peanut butter around the child or in the classroom first, then some further actions if this continues.

Comments: I definitely agree that doing health lessons on allergies is a good idea. Some of the students may not know how dangerous they can really be and need to be taught more about the subject.

Comments: I agree with this solution for this case, doing more than one lesson to address the seriousness of the allergy could help the students understand.

Comments: If I were in this situation, I would do exactly this. I feel that the students at fault need to be talked to privately followed by a class lesson on allergies. This way, "Jeremy" is not specifically singled out and his classmates can learn about his allergy (and other allergies too). By getting an administrator and/or a school nurse involved can really set the tone of how serious allergies can be.

Comments: Great solution! It is important for the students to realize how serious that these jokes are and how they are not funny.

Comments: I would do the same in this situation. A student's health is important and so is mutual respect among students. Involving the nurse and administration is great because it conveys the possible severity of the situation.
