  Case: Puberty
Quinton is a male student and in the eleventh grade. He has autism and has recently discovered his fondness of women, the body parts of women, and his own private parts. He has groped the physical education coach and has been touching himself in class. What kind of strategies could help Quinton?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
I would first explain what is acceptable and unacceptable behavior with others and in school, let him know that that kind of behavior is unacceptable and if the behavior continues a discussion with Quinton's parents would be the next step.

Comments: I think this would be a great second step to take with an autistic child but jumping from teaching him boundaries to him getting in trouble is very quick.

Comments: This is the best avenue to take.Discussing what is proper and what is not, and then bringing the parents in if it persists.

Comments: Yea, need to have a backup plan like contacting parents if the first conversation isn't fruitful.

Comments: Nice solution. If just talking to him does not work it is important for his family to be aware of this issue.

Comments: Great solution! I would do the same thing if I were in this situation. A discussion with the parents after speaking to the student is very important, as they can be aware of his behavior and possibly be able to explain to him the differences between males and females more effectively.

Comments: Teaching the student which behaviors are acceptable in school and which are not is a great first step. The student likely does not know which behaviors are acceptable in certain social situations and environments, so this information needs to be explicitly taught and reinforced.
