The teachers' lounge is not very private; office personnel wander in to get coffee, and the door often stands open even though students pass by regularly and can overhear anything said. What would you do? Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!) I think that these discussions could prove useful as long as no student's names are given. Getting input from other teachers about methods of teaching or different homework assignments can be useful to improve students scores. Teachers can use this open discussion to improve their professional practices as well as teaching methods, all while keeping student information confidential.
