I have a colleague that offered 5 pts on a test if students came in early and attended a study session before school. Is it right to offer extra credit like this? Shouldn't the material reviewed in the study session itself be the reward? Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!) I believe that any type of extra credit should be earned and just showing up a little early or staying a little late after school does not mean that you've earned the luxury of extra credit. Extra credit should come at a price of doing extra work that hones the skills and concept knowledge of students.
