The author teaches students about ecology and plant life
After reading the story you learned what ecology and botany means. Define both of those words and provide an example from the story for each word. Why do you think it is important to the author that people learn about ecology and botany.

Ecology is study of the environment and how organisms interact in the environment. An example from the text about ecology is the bunnies that someone brought to Australia. They were really bad for that environment because they were not supposed to be there. Botany is the study of plants and an example from the story is how fertilizers can be good for plants but, if used wrong it could make plants die. I think it is important for people to learn about ecology and botany because it would help people learn about what to do and what not to do to the environment that we live in. It is important to understand that what we do can affect the environment negatively. It also gives us a better understanding of the world we live in and how nature operates.
