Points Rewarded Paper for ESE student
I had a student in the classroom who is ESE. He would constantly move around the classroom, call out, and not get his work completed. The teacher and I decided to come up with a paper he would get each day that list all the subjects and if he was able to focus, stay in his sit, and get at least half of the work done he would earn a point. At the end of the day he would count the points and see if he earns an orange to go home with. (The chart in the class has orange at the top for best student behavior). Is this a good system or is there anything else that could be done? |

I think right now that the solution you have in place is a good one, the only thing is I would maybe switch up the rewards so that way it doesn't seem consistent and won't loose motivation for the student. Overall I think your idea was a great one! |

I think that this is a good system to implement! It may help to use rewards every now and then as well. |

I don't think this is a bad system because he knows the expectations are and there's a reward for if he's following them. I think this gives him something to look forward to if he behaves well |

If the systemm is working, why change it. I think you might just want to vary the reward. |

I like this system and am currently trying to implement something like this in my internship classroom. Maybe the student should be able to earn something from a treasure box at the end of the week if they meet the goals 3/5 days. Or the student could get a bag of chips. Something simple like this could reinforce the student's behavior. |

This is an excellent solution idea, as long as you see progress within the student and they are learning to follow rules and are participating then you’ve made a good choice |

I think this is a good solution. However, if the behaviors continue, you may want to consider more immediate gratification. Such as using stickers for every 10 minutes he is on task. OR a sticker for every assignment they completes. Then, slowly wean the student off of the immediate prizes. |

I use this system in my classroom. It is a great system. I always go over my expectations at the start of the day and how they can lose points and they would rather lose an arm before losing a point. I think it just works. |
