What is your most favorite grade/subject to this? Explain.
If you are asked this question in a job interview for a teaching position: What are some things you should avoid when responding to this question? What might be some important points to stress that would get the interviewer's attention? How would you respond to this question?

I would suggest that I could be versatile and adapt to any grade level, but the lower grades would be the classes I would choose over the higher ones. I feel like the younger students have a curiosity and eagerness about learning. It makes me so happy to see a younger students learning something for the first time, it is almost like a lightbulb turned on in their brains. They get so excited, especially figuring out why? and how?
They love to ask questions, and are just more eager to learn.

I would first briefly describe my experiences with the levels I have had the opportunity to teach; simply what I enjoyed and the challenges of each. That way, the reasoning behind choosing a particular level would be justified. I prefer the high school level simply because I love asking the more advanced "how" and "why" questions that expand on material learned in earlier grades with more relevance to post-high school life.

I would explain what my favorite grade or subject is and why. However, I would be sure to conclude by saying that I would be eager and willing to take on new challenges and see what else I was capable of. I always thought I wanted to teach 4th grade however, I was placed in a 2nd grade classroom for an internship and am loving it. I would explain that with each placement I realized new strengths within myself and I would be eager to continue challenging and learning myself.

I have changed my mind so many times about what I want to teach because every time I had an internship, I realized that I was capable of something more. I would explain that I love challenges and would be absolutely be willing to take on any class.
